Cache Magazine Reviews Servant of a Dark God
Here’s a review by Charlene Hirschi of Cache Magazine. I tweeted about it last week, but pointed everyone to the wrong site.
Like another reviewer, I picked up this book with reluctance, but by the third chapter I found myself completely under its spell. Full Review.

Shiny.
They moved the David Drake blurb to the side, lightened the lettering and moved things so the title wasn’t covering the top of Hunger’s head. At first I thought they moved the lettering, but they didn’t. It appears the shrunk Hunger a bit so we could see more of him. Small changes, but I think they make a significant effect. I think the overall effect is better. I like how Hunger looks more menacing in this one. Sugar is different. Don’t know which version of her I like better. I’m leaning to the original. Your thoughts? Either way, we luvs Tor’s art and production department. Here’s the before and after.
Learn from some amazing authors this October 7th and 8th in Layton, Utah
The Utah chapter of the Romance Writers Association is holding a writing conference on October 7th and 8th at the Davis Conference Center in Layton, Utah where FIVE New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors will sharing key insights into writing stories. I’m talking about:- Brenda Novak
- Kristan Higgins
- Dean Wesley Smith
- Raeanne Thayne
- Lynn Kurland
If you write stories and want an opportunity to learn from some major pros, then you will want to be at this event.
If you’re not a romance writer, you might be tempted to think that the topics won’t apply to you. Don’t be fooled. Story is story. And these storytellers are pleasing huge numbers of readers.
I will be there. I have two presentations. But I can tell you that when I’m not sharing what I’ve prepared, I’m going to be in the sessions listening to these superstars.
I hope to see you there.
Did you like BAD PENNY? Nominate it.
If you enjoyed Bad Penny, you can nominate Frank, Sam, Carmen, and the gang to be considered for The Whitney Award.
Here’s how it works. The public nominates novels they like by LDS authors. A panel of judges reads through all the nominations and selects no more than 5 finalists for each genre. Then a “panel of industry professionals, including authors, publishers, bookstore owners, distributors, critics, and others” vote on the nominations. The winners get some good PR and exposure. It’s not Oprah, but getting the word out is critical, and every bit helps.
To tell the judges to consider BAD PENNY go here: Whitney Nominations. You have until December 31st.
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

Is “Lovely Agent” different from “Super Agent Caitlin” who is holding up Curse of a Dark God? Next month, it will be a year since you finished it, right?
They are the same, and Super Lovely Agent hasn’t held anything up. These delays were at the publisher. However, I do have some good news. The problem is I’m going to have to wait until everything is finalized to share it.
Sorry, didn’t mean to blame the wrong party. But as you say, you haven’t given us much information to work with!
I know!
